About Course

Pom Poko is a 1994 animated film produced by Studio Ghibli and directed by Isao Takahata. The film tells the story of a group of shape-shifting raccoon dogs, or tanuki, who live in the forests of suburban Tokyo. With rapid urbanisation threatening to destroy their habitat, the tanuki must unite to save their home and way of life.

Pom Poko is a touching, beautiful and thought-provoking film that offers a meaningful and memorable experience for viewers of all ages. While generally well received by critics, there are some criticisms that have been leveled against the film, such as the story being somewhat uneven and disjointed in places. Overall, it was praised for its animation, storytelling and cultural representation. Terrie and Rich Pav are still on the fence about the film.

Original Title: 平成狸合戦ぽんぽこ(Heisei Tanuki Gassen Ponpoko)
